Pegassi Infernus Classic in GTA 6: The Lamborghini Diablo in Disguise
Yes — the Pegassi Infernus Classic is in GTA 6. Rockstar has shown it twice in official footage: once in the first trailer and once in the Extended Look. But if you think the Pegassi Infernus Classic in GTA 6 is a Lamborghini Countach, you are half wrong. The car is mainly a Lamborghini Diablo wearing a few borrowed parts from other Italian legends — and the Countach connection is real, just not where most people think it is.
This is the full breakdown: where the Pegassi Infernus Classic appears in GTA 6, the real car behind it, why everyone keeps saying “Countach”, and what we still don’t know before the November 19, 2026 launch.
Pegassi Infernus Classic GTA 6: Where It Has Been Spotted
The Pegassi Infernus Classic GTA 6 sightings are small but confirmed, and they come from Rockstar’s own footage — not leaks.
Trailer 1 (December 2023), 0:31. A small part of the car’s rear is visible on an Ocean Drive-inspired road in Vice Beach. It sits in front of a parked Landstalker XL and behind a Granger 3600LX. It is easy to miss — the car is parked in traffic, not the focus of the shot — but the rear shape, the vents and the stance match the Infernus Classic exactly.
The Extended Look (August 2026), 20:21. This is the better sighting. The Pegassi Infernus Classic takes part in a nighttime street race alongside several other sports cars, including the Grotti Itali RSX. You can see the full car in motion here: the low wedge nose, the pop-up headlights and the wide rear.
That is two official appearances before launch. Rockstar has not shown the car in the October 15 launch trailer, and there is no official screenshot of it yet. But two sightings in official footage is enough to call it confirmed for GTA 6.
The Real Car Behind It: The Lamborghini Diablo
The Pegassi Infernus Classic is, first and foremost, a Lamborghini Diablo. The overall body shape, the scissor doors, the wheels, the interior and the engine layout all come from the Diablo. If you park the two side by side, the family resemblance is obvious in seconds.
The real Lamborghini Diablo ran from 1990 to 2001, and it was a landmark car. It was the successor to the Countach, and the first Lamborghini to break 200 mph in production form. Here are the numbers that matter:
- Engine: 5.7-litre naturally aspirated V12
- Power: 485 hp (492 PS)
- Torque: 428 lb-ft
- 0–60 mph: 4.5 seconds
- Top speed: 202 mph (325 km/h)
- Gearbox: 5-speed manual
- Drive: Rear-wheel drive (AWD on VT models)
- Original price: $239,000
- Production: 2,884 cars, 1990–2001
- Designer: Marcello Gandini
The Diablo was also famously raw. It had no ABS until 1999 and no power steering until 1993 — a 485 hp mid-engine V12 with neither. That is the character Rockstar is channelling with the Infernus Classic: loud, wide, dramatic, and a little bit dangerous.
The Countach Confusion: Why Everyone Says Countach
So why does every search for the Pegassi Infernus Classic in GTA 6 turn up the word “Countach”? There are three real reasons, and none of them makes the car a Countach.
First, the original Infernus was a Countach. In GTA Vice City (2002), the Infernus was heavily based on the Lamborghini Countach LP500 — the wedge profile, the shape, the feel. That car is burned into every Vice City fan’s memory, and GTA 6 is a return to Vice City. So when people see a classic wedge supercar in GTA 6, “Countach” is the first word that comes to mind.
Second, the Diablo is the Countach’s successor. The Diablo replaced the Countach in 1990. They share a designer, Marcello Gandini, and the same basic idea: a mid-engine V12 wedge with scissor doors. The Infernus Classic is the son, not the father — but the family face is similar enough to confuse anyone at a glance.
Third, one small part really is Countach. The Infernus Classic’s engine cover is thought to take inspiration from the Lamborghini Countach LP400 S. That is the only direct Countach piece on the car. Everything else — the body, the doors, the front, the rear — comes from the Diablo and other cars.
So the honest answer to “is the Infernus Classic a Countach?” is no — it is a Diablo with a Countach-flavoured engine cover, carrying a name that Vice City fans associate with the Countach. If you want the Countach itself in GTA 6, that is a different wish. The Infernus Classic is the closest thing, and it is a great one.
A Car Built From Five Legends
Like the Grotti Furia, which we broke down as five cars in one, the Pegassi Infernus Classic is a mix. Rockstar rarely copies one car exactly. Here is the recipe, part by part:
- Body, scissor doors, wheels, interior, engine layout: Lamborghini Diablo
- Side vents and rear fascia: Cizeta-Moroder V16T, the rare 1990s Italian supercar
- Front fascia and pop-up headlights: Ferrari Testarossa
- Tail lights and rear mesh: Ferrari F50
- Engine cover: Lamborghini Countach LP400 S
The pop-up headlights deserve a special mention. They were standard on early Diablos, and they are the single most 1990s thing on this car. In the Extended Look street race footage, they are up and lit, and the car looks exactly like a poster from a teenager’s bedroom wall in 1992. That is the point. The Infernus Classic is nostalgia with a V12.
The Infernus Classic in GTA Online: What It Could Tell Us About GTA 6
The Infernus Classic is not new to GTA. It arrived in GTA Online on March 28, 2017, as part of the Cunning Stunts: Special Vehicle Circuit update, and it is still for sale today. Its GTA Online record gives us a rough idea of what to expect in GTA 6 — with one big warning: GTA 6 handling and prices are a new game, and nothing carries over automatically.
- Price: $915,000 from Legendary Motorsport
- Class: Sports Classics
- Top speed (tested): 118.75 mph (191 km/h), tested by Broughy1322 with full upgrades
- Lap time (tested): 1:06.049
- Drivetrain: Rear-wheel drive, 6 gears
- Seats: 2
In GTA Online it is a solid all-round Sports Classics car — quick, grippy, and relatively affordable next to the $2,740,000 Grotti Furia. It is not the fastest car in its class, but it is one of the best-looking, and in a game about cruising Ocean Drive at sunset, that counts for a lot.
For GTA 6, expect the class to stay Sports Classics. The price, the top speed and the handling will all be rebalanced for the new game, and Rockstar has published none of those numbers yet. We will update this page the moment real GTA 6 stats appear — either from Rockstar or from testing after the November 19 launch.
What We Still Don’t Know About the Pegassi Infernus Classic in GTA 6
Honest list, so you know exactly what is confirmed and what is not:
- GTA 6 price: not published anywhere. Do not trust any site that gives you a dollar figure for GTA 6 right now — it is guessing.
- GTA 6 top speed and handling: not published. The GTA Online numbers above are the only tested figures that exist.
- Where to find it: no spawn location or dealer has been confirmed in GTA 6. The trailer sightings are on Ocean Drive and in a street race, which tells us the car exists in the world — not where to buy it.
- Customisation: unknown. GTA Online offers Los Santos Customs upgrades for it, and GTA 6 is expected to keep deep customisation, but nothing is confirmed for this car.
- Launch trailer appearance: it does not appear in the October 15, 2026 launch trailer, as far as anyone has confirmed.
The wait is short. GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and the first 72 hours after launch will answer all of these questions. Check back here — we will test the car and update this page with real numbers.
Why the Infernus Classic Matters for GTA 6
The Infernus Classic matters because it is a bridge between the two Vice Cities. The original Infernus defined Vice City in 2002. The Infernus Classic, a Diablo in all but name, brings that same wedge-supercar feeling back to the same streets — now rebuilt in the most detailed open world Rockstar has ever made.
It also shows Rockstar’s plan for the GTA 6 car list. The roster mixes brand-new supercars like the Furia with returning classics like the Infernus Classic and the Cheetah Classic. The classics are not filler. They are the cars that make Vice City feel like Vice City.
If you are building a garage for launch week, put the Infernus Classic on your list. It will not be the fastest car in GTA 6. It will be one of the most photographed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Pegassi Infernus Classic in GTA 6?
Yes. It is visible in Trailer 1 at 0:31 on an Ocean Drive-style road in Vice Beach, and again in the Extended Look at 20:21 in a nighttime street race. Both are official Rockstar footage.
Is the Infernus Classic based on the Lamborghini Countach or the Diablo?
Mainly the Diablo — body, scissor doors, wheels, interior and engine layout. The Countach link is real but small: the engine cover takes inspiration from the Countach LP400 S, and the original Vice City Infernus was Countach-based. The Diablo is the Countach’s successor, so the family resemblance is genuine.
How much is the Infernus Classic in GTA Online?
$915,000 from Legendary Motorsport. Its GTA 6 price has not been published yet.
What class is the Infernus Classic in GTA 6?
It is expected to be Sports Classics, the same class it holds in GTA Online. Rockstar has not officially confirmed the GTA 6 class list.
How fast is the Infernus Classic?
In GTA Online, Broughy1322 tested it at 118.75 mph fully upgraded. No GTA 6 top speed has been published — we will test it after launch on November 19, 2026.
Does the Infernus Classic have scissor doors?
Yes. The scissor doors come from the Lamborghini Diablo, and they are one of the car’s defining features.
